The “welcome basket” is one of the most time-honored traditions in any neighborhood. Putting one together is an act of friendship towards your new residents and a bit of sympathy for them to ease the pain of a stressful day. With that thought in mind, here are few ideas for creating one:
- Bottled Water – Whether for the movers or the residents themselves, bottled water is always a welcome gift. If these is already power in the apartment, you can even leave the bottles in the fridge for some extra cooling refreshment.
- Soap and Toiletries – It's often the little things that get overlooked when moving into a new apartment. A small bottle of soap and single roll of toilet paper can go a long way to relieving some stress during the move.
- Menus to Nearby Restaurants – No one really wants to cook at the end of long day of moving so some menus to nearby restaurants that deliver is an excellent gift. If available, also leave some coupons to those establishments.
